Forensic Photonics, LLC was born from a singular mission: to revolutionize forensic evidence photography and address the staggering reality that less than half of all homicides are cleared by arrest. Founded by Geoff Lambright and Bill Peiler, our company bridges the gap between elite optical physics and the frontlines of law enforcement.

The inception of Forensic Photonics, LLC was marked by a fortuitous meeting between its co-founders, Geoff Lambright and Bill Peiler in 2005. Geoff brought a strong academic background to the partnership with his studies in physics and optics, and his work with Dr. E. Roland Menzel—the pioneer of laser fingerprint detection – at Texas Tech University. Bill, on the other hand, contributed valuable real-world experience from his service with the U.S. Army and his work in Federal Law Enforcement at the U.S. Department of State. Together, Geoff and Bill set out to develop a new device for imaging latent prints, with a focus on applications for law enforcement and research facilities. This straightforward yet effective idea led to the establishment of Forensic Photonics, LLC in 2018. Understanding that for too long, the forensic community had been underserved by repurposed consumer technology, Geoff and Bill decided to change that by applying the principles of photon propagation and molecular spectroscopy. Thus, the Latent Imaging Fluorescence Technology (LIFT) system was born.

LIFT isn't just a camera; it is a dedicated photonics measurement device built from the ground up to be 1,000 times more sensitive than industry standards. LIFT replaces hours of darkroom labor with minutes of high-quality prints of value. The LIFT system is engineered for absolute scientific accuracy and unprecedented speed. By integrating pass-through illumination and scientific-grade sensors, LIFT captures high-resolution, 1,000 PPI images in a fraction of a second—even on difficult, curved surfaces like shell casings, doorknobs, and light bulbs. The process is entirely non-destructive to DNA and applies zero AI alterations. We provide the raw, uncompressed truth in a format that ensures every print is not only discovered, but is also reproducible and effortlessly admissible in court.
